Half-Glass Gaming [Episode 44] : Can’t Get Taste like That in the Big House

Half Glass Gaming 44

It’s been a long time coming, folks, but our Final Fantasy episode is finally here.

Before we get into all that business, though, we discuss Prison Ted’s Super Subs and Mandi’s obsession with nature documentaries. She’s got a fistful of factoids straight out of the animal kingdom, and she’s dropping some mad science about panda poop and narwhal horns.

After the break, we dive into the history of the original Final Fantasy game for the Famicom, and we explain how the numbering system for later games in the series got so confusing in the United States. We also dissect Final Fantasy VII to try to figure out how it changed the game, and we follow the series through the decline of Squaresoft and the emergence of Square Enix.

Did you expect us to leave out the MMO entries? Because we’re hitting those too, before following the transformation of Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV.

We’ve got an episode jam-packed with Final Fantasy goodness. You don’t want to miss this one, folks.

I quite enjoyed this episode! I haven’t played the newer games in the Final Fantasy series, but I count the older titles among my favourites.

I noticed that the description said that the next week will be the final episode. Does this mean that the podcast is ending or have I misunderstood? I don’t want to be overly concerned, but I hope that the podcast will be continuing. I enjoy it very much and look forward to it each week.

Thanks for listening!

You read correctly. Next week will be our final episode. We’ll have more information about all that in next week’s episode.

I certainly would have preferred to be wrong. I don’t suppose anything can be done to change your minds? I look forward to this podcast each week, and I’m quite sure I’m not the only one.

I’m with ya Jimmy and appreciate the sentiment. I will be out wandering the streets murmuring somewhat incoherently about games after we wrap this pony show up, that might be the only next best thing to HGG. Sorry Jimmy, thanks for the ear real estate, though, I liked it in there.

We came, we saw, we conquered, then we just sort of chilled for a bit.

Poor Sakaguchi. No wonder he left Square.

I want the FFVII remake to have a completely new battle system and some new bosses or area. I already beat the old one a bunch of times so I’ll pass if they don’t add something new.

I liked the episode a lot but I just saw HGG is getting canceled? What happened?
