Super Mario 64 Is Coming to Nintendo Switch
Super Mario 64 came out in 1996 to revolutionize the way the world thought about video games. It wasn’t the first 3D platformer (just off the top of my head, Jumping Flash! and a French game called Alpha Waves both predate it), but it was the one that created the blueprint for such games going forward.
The game was hailed as a masterpiece immediately. In fact, Next Generation magazine called it the best video game ever made before the game was officially out (though Next Generation had played a review copy of the game by that point). Ultra Game Players magazine gave it their 1996 Game of the Year Award. Needless to say, Super Mario 64 is a hugely important part of video-game history.
Now, the game is getting a fresh lease on life on the Nintendo Switch via Super Mario 3D All-Stars. This collection includes three Mario games from the 3D era: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. If you, like us, enjoy retro gaming on your fancy Nintendo Switch, then this collection is a must-buy.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be out on Switch on September 18, 2020. You can watch the announce trailer below.
